Searching for the Unexpected by David Works

I developed a program to explore structured randomness -- the goal was to quickly provide compositional possibilities that I could reject or accept for further development

I began to look at the pixel within the context of Abstractionism and Minimalism. I used my self-portrait as a testing ground to begin to equate the pixel with the works of nonobjective artists who generated works to establish an abstract visual language of the sublime, pure color, geometric form, deep contemplation and metaphysical pursuit of the truth.

The digital files were the same, but everything else was up for grabs.

All of a sudden is not really all of a sudden in technology change--although it seems so when there is a boundary shift, especially as that boundary is mapped out in precious floor space.

Making art using the latest inkjet printing equipment and inks has rapidly become a dominant and pervasive form of artistic expression.
